The holiday season is here! Did you know that the holiday season is a really busy season for bloggers? I have been blogging for almost 3 years and the holidays are always bringing me an increase in my blog traffic and sales! Because of that, I am putting together this guide to help you take advantage of the holidays as a blogger. Let’s get some more money in your pocket and blog traffic on your site!

How to take advantage of the holidays as a blogger
1. Affiliate marketing
The biggest way to make money as a blogger during the holidays is through affiliate marketing. If you are new to affiliate marketing then you should definitely check out my post on how to make money as a blogger. I go into detail on affiliate marketing strategies. Now is the time to start going hard core with your affiliate links!
Here are some ideas to help you PUSH your affiliate sales during the holidays:
– Create gift guides
The BEST and EASIEST way to make money during the holidays is by creating and promoting gift guides. People are constantly searching for gift ideas during this time of the year. Especially gift guides for boyfriends/girlfriends or even what to get your parents or siblings. Get creative with your gift guides! This is also a great way to take advantage of amazon’s affiliate program. People know how crazy stores get this time of year so they will be using online shopping frequently.
– Guide to holiday sales
Another great way to make money through affiliate marketing during the holidays is to create guides for holiday sales. One great example, a guide to the best black Friday sales. Recommend stores and products to buy on black Friday. You can do the same for cyber Monday too!
– Review a product you might have received
If you receive a product as a gift then do a product review post and use your affiliate links in the post.
– Create holiday look books
Another way I like to use affiliate links during the holidays is by creating holiday look books. This could be a holiday outfit you put together or a created holiday make up look. Use affiliate links to promote the products and clothing items you are wearing.

2. Create holiday related content
Another great way to take advantage of the holidays as a blogger is by creating holiday related content. DUH. Seriously, get into the spirit of the holidays because evergreen content is important but seasonal content can perform really well. I have a whole list of winter and holiday blog post ideas here.
3. Participate in Blogmas
If you’ve been following me for a while then you might of heard me talk about Blogtober. Well, Blogmas is similar to Blogtober. Essentially it’s when you blog everyday in the Month of December. Your blog posts are usually winter or holiday related. It’s quite the challenge but it can be a lot of fun! After all, blogging should be fun too. You can use this list of blog post ideas as inspiration.
4. Do a holiday series
I love doing blog series! It can be a lot of fun and a great way to keep your audience engaged because they will be looking forward to the next post. An example of a blog series I tried out was the “12 Days of Blog Tips” each day (12 days before Christmas) I shared a new blog tip on my blog. Think of a holiday themed series you could do on your blog. You can even take advantage of using Instagram stories to promote your series. If you struggle with ideas on how to utilize your Instagram stories, then read this next!
5. Take advantage of Pinterest
I can’t stress this enough, Pinterest can bring you KILLER blog traffic! I get thousands of views from Pinterest and it increases around the holidays. If you think like the average pinner, many users are going onto Pinterest to find recipes, DIYs, gift ideas etc.
During the holiday season those searches sky rocket! If you create holiday related content and use Pinterest strategies to market those posts, I promise your blog traffic will grow. The best part about Pinterest is that you can use Tailwind to schedule your created pins! This means it takes maybe an hour or so of your time a week to create and schedule your content to be seen by hundreds and thousands! If you don’t know how to grow your blog traffic on Pinterest then you need this course. It teaches you how to get thousands of views from Pinterest, step by step!
I hope you enjoyed these 5 holiday content marketing tips!
Great ideas 🙂
