How to ALWAYS Put Out Your BEST Content
It’s another MONDAY. If you’re new here, my name is Ell (also known as Lauren) creator of Boss Girl Bloggers a community filled with over 26,000 female bloggers and entrepreneurs. I frequently come onto this blog of mine to share with you everything I learn throughout my blogging journey! I do all the hard work (trial and error / research etc. so you don’t have to!) I also occasionally talk about my favorite things, self care/love, and motivation! BUT today’s post in particular is going to be for all you bloggers/content creators out there! We are talking about how to CONSISTENTLY put out your BEST content!
Before we begin a DISCLAIMER: *I do use affiliate links, meaning that if you purchase via my link I get commission at no additional cost to you. Read my full disclosure here.
Are you on the BEST platform for putting out your BEST content?
Truth be told, there are a lot of platforms out there to start a blog on, but how do you know which one is BEST for you and your blog?
I started out on wordpress .com but quickly realized that’s not the BEST option for my goals. My goal is to turn my blog into my full time career. After 9 months of hustling I was able to do this!! You can read all about how I turned my blog into my career in 6 months here.
SO – why was wordpress .com not the best option for me? Well, wordpress .com (wix, blogger, squarespace) is VERY limited compared to a self hosted blog. Having a self hosted blog allows me to use plug-ins that help with SEO which ALSO makes it so that my posts rank higher on google. This is a PLUS for putting out your best content consistently AND for growing your blog traffic! I have a whole article dedicated on the differences between wordpress .com & a self hosted blog if you are thinking about making the switch!
The good news is Site Ground (the self host I use) will transfer your site for you at NO ADDITIONAL cost which is the BEST. Their support LIVE CHAT 24/7 helped me with all my questions when I first made the switch and they did all the hard work for me.
Site Ground starts at $3.95 a month via my link if you are interested!
But starting on the right platform that fits your goals makes all of the difference in the world!
Content Creation & Planning Ahead
Having a content schedule will help to make sure you are consistently putting out your best content, AND it prepares you so that you aren’t scrambling to get a post up. If you aren’t prepared it can lead to content that isn’t at all your best.
A great way to plan your content is to invest in a planner. This is my planner.
- At the beginning of each month I will open up my planner and take the content ideas I came up with throughout the previous month and plan those posts out. This helps me to visualize how my month is going to go.
- You can also make sure that you post a new post on the same days each week. (Monday, Wednesday, Friday OR Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday)
Here is just a quick example of a Monday as a Content Creator.
10:00am to 12:00pm – Edit Blog Post, Add Images & Links etc.
12:00pm – Publish New Blog Post
12:00pm to 12:45pm – Promote New Blog post on social medias, Pinterest, etc. Engage and comment on other bloggers new posts.
12:45pm to 1:45pm Lunch
1:45pm to 2:45pm – Create pinnable images for your posts & upload an Insta post.
2:45pm to 3:45pm – Take photography that you need for your posts throughout the week.
3:45pm to 4:45pm – Edit photography etc.
4:45pm to 5:45pm – Engage on social media etc.
5:45pm to 8:00pm – Eat dinner and family time etc.
8:00pm to 10:00pm – Work on your next blog post.
10:00pm to 11:00pm – Research blog traffic & sales strategies, engage on social media.
11:00pm to 8:00am – SLEEP.
(This doesn’t work for everyone because everyone has a different day to day life to keep in mind. children, school, other jobs etc.)
Plan out your week in advance such as:
When you want new blog posts up by… when you want to post new Instagram posts… Figure out if you need to set up your Tailwind Schedule… (If you don’t use Tailwind to schedule pins on Pinterest you are seriously missing out! Doubled and nearly tripled my blog traffic!) Use my referral link and get your first month free. Do you have a podcast or video that you need up?… Plan out when you want your newsletter to go out, or any e-mails to your list. etc.

Set Out Your Goals
Once I have my content planned out, I will set goals for myself. The important thing to remember when setting goals is to make sure that you are setting achievable goals. Don’t go crazy and make goals that are too hard to achieve. You know what your schedule is like, don’t stress yourself out by setting impossible goals.
Example of some content goals for Mondays.
- Type up & edit Wednesday’s scheduled post.
- Promote & share previous weeks posts on 3 different platforms.
- Grow Yesterday’s post to 100 views by Friday.
- Try to get 5 comments on newest post by Next Monday.
Setting these small goals and giving yourself time to achieve them helps.
Pay Attention to Your Audience
Yes, you are writing for YOU …BUT… If you are trying to grow your blog & turn it into a career, you are writing for your audience too! LISTEN TO WHAT THEY LIKE. It doesn’t hurt to ask your audience what they want to read next either. If you are constantly putting out content that your audience is asking for, your audience is going to trust you and continue to read your content.
When it comes to growing your biz/blog your audience is IMPORTANT. They are a HUGE reason as to why you are able to grow. Give them what they want!
How to figure out what they want?
- Instagram content polls. Ask if they’d rather blog post A or blog post B next.
- Twitter Polls. Ask what topic they enjoy reading about. What blog post they want next (a,b,c or d)
- You can also ask your audience at the end of your post, “What would you like to read from me next?” and see if any of your readers responds!
Keep Track of What’s Popular
A great strategy to always pay attention to is what posts go “viral” or get the most attention! If you have a post that get’s a ton of attention, you want to always UPDATE that post, always add links throughout the post to related content, add affiliate links where you can & if you have any content upgrades like an E-Course or Opt – In make sure to add it to the popular posts!
For Example: I had a post that got a lot of attention, How I Turned My Blog Into A Career In 6 Months …So, once I created my e-courses I went back and added my e-courses to this post as a “content upgrade”. It’s a great way to sell a product or get attention to your “opt -in” e-mail list!
Another reason why you should keep track of what’s popular is so that you can continuously put out content that you already know your readers will love!
Say you have a post on 10 Ways to Practice Self Care and it ends up receiving a lot of attention…
WELL, you then know that your audience enjoys posts on Self Care so build off of that and create more content that you already know your audience enjoys. If your audience likes fashion posts more than beauty, then focus on creating more posts revolving around fashion.
Proofread, Double, Triple Check
Before publishing your content make sure you proofread! We aren’t perfect so we don’t always catch every mistake but here are some ways to make sure that you are catching some errors:
- Grammarly: This is a great tool to use. They make sure that everything you type is free of errors. Even helps improve your writing skills.
- Read Your Post Out Loud: This helps to really hear what your article sounds like. I find that when I read my posts out loud I am more likely to catch mistakes than if I were to just read it in my head.
- Have Someone Else Give It A Read: Having someone else read through your post before publishing helps too! Even if it’s your significant other, a friend, or a blogging buddy.
Create Catchy & Captivating Titles
Creating catchy titles is KEY to getting your content attention. Do you want to consistently put out content that kills it? Then make sure your title is click worthy!

First impressions are EVERYTHING. Make the reader want more.
Always Deliver
What I mean by this is, when you say you are going to do something, DO IT. If your blog post title is “13 Ways to Explode Traffic” Make sure you are actually sharing 13 ways that DO HELP grow your traffic.
No one likes a promise that isn’t kept. I have clicked on a post before and have been disappointed because the title lied. Don’t disappoint!
Use Headings, Lists, & Images
One way to make sure your audience stays engaged is to create HEADERS / IMAGES / & LISTS to help break up the text. Large amounts of text that isn’t broken up can turn a reader away from a post.
Not to mention, many will scan the post first to see if it’s something they want to read fully. If you have headers that JUMP out with keywords, your post might attract the reader to stick around and give it a go. I find that my readers tend to enjoy lists as well. Don’t scare your audience away with large blocks of text. Make your posts appealing to the eyes.
& OF COURSE – IMAGES.
Find Your Voice & Use It
When it comes to creating content that really captures your audience, you need to find your voice! Some people are all about sounding professional and being “perfect” but, THAT’S NOT ME. I write how I speak for the most part. I want my voice to shine through my writing. I am not going to put on a front and act like someone that I am not. And you shouldn’t either!
Don’t be afraid to let your personality shine through. People enjoy those who are RELATABLE. No fake acts. BE REAL. Capture your audience through your writing style. Be yourself and always stay authentic!
Personal Touch
I know that many are afraid to get personal, BUT getting personal actually HELPS. Like I said, people love others who are RELATABLE. If you are adding your own personal experiences to your post, people will find you relatable which then turns into them wanting more and coming back.
When it comes to blogging you should get personal and make personal connections! I consider my readers my friends. I get 100% REAL with my readers and they love that. Don’t hold anything back.
YOAST SEO
I really love the YOAST SEO plug -in. If you are self-hosted then you have the ability to use plug-ins which can really help make your content your BEST.
SEO is Search Engine Optimization, and it’s important if you want to rank higher on google searches. (which helps to grow your blog traffic)
The Yoast SEO plug-in is a great guideline. You put in your focus keyword and it will tell you if you have used the keyword enough times throughout your post, and how you can improve your SEO. The goal is to get the GREEN LIGHT. It also gives you suggestions for creating better readability throughout your post.
SEO is a HUGE topic and there is a lot that goes into it.
Like I said earlier, why I recommend signing up with Site Ground & getting self-hosted. PLUG-INS & SEO.
