Welcome back to the Boss Girl Bloggers’ Member Spotlight series! Today I am featuring LaWann Moses, a personal success strategist and professional speaker! Here is her interview!
1. How long have you been blogging and when did you start?
My first attempt at blogging was in 2013. It didn’t go so well, so I walked away for a few years. However, I couldn’t stay away and I revamped, rebranded, and began blogging again in 2017. I have since again rebranded and now my blog can be found here.
2. What does the Boss Girl Bloggers community mean to you and how did you come across it?
I came across BGB when I was going through my rebrand and searching for resources to help me get started. I came across Lauren’s blog which had such valuable information which led me to BBG. BGB is a supportive community of like-minded girl bosses who are all about community and collaboration. We all want to help each other out and see our fellow BGB win!
3. What has been your biggest struggle when it comes to blogging? How did you overcome it?
My biggest blogging struggle was monetizing my blog and getting traffic to my blog. I overcame this struggle by taking courses and learning all I could about Pinterest and monetization strategize, Pinterest became a huge traffic generator for my blog which in return has more people seeing my content and engaging with it.
4. What is one thing you wish you knew before you started blogging?
I wish someone told me to take it one step at a time so that I don’t become overwhelmed. Blogging doesn’t have to be hard. I think so many of us dive in and really don’t know what to expect. We see the success of other bloggers and begin comparing ourselves, not realizing that the successful blogger has been in this for years and it took them time to get to where they are.
Also, I wish someone told me that in the beginning of blogging you will most likely be talking to yourself, but keep going and don’t quit. Join supportive blogging communities like BGB so that you are not so along on the journey and you have a network of support.
5. What has been your favorite part about blogging?
My favorite thing about blogging is content creation. I am an author and writer at heart, so seeing an idea become a written piece and then a formatted blog post makes me so happy!
6. What are your blogging goals?
I would love to continue to generate traffic and monetize my blog. I also would love to become a featured and regular contributor on top publications.
7. Links to social media for people to follow you!
